Early career Award

An award initiated in 2020, the Early Career Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of fire ecology and management within first 10 years of their career.

Nominees can work in any area related to fire ecology and management and their contributions may be in research, management, teaching, service, outreach, or a combination of these areas. International nominees are accepted, and one award will be given annually.

While there is no age limitation for receiving this award, nominees should have graduated or have experienced a career change to the field of fire ecology and management within 10 years prior to nomination. Current students should be nominated for the Student Excellence Awards rather than the Early Career Award.

Any active member of AFE or SAFE can submit a nomination by using the form below. Incomplete or late nominations will not be considered. After your nomination has been submitted, a copy of it will be emailed to you for your records.
